Guitars Built To Order

Fine electric guitars -- made-to-order -- have long been the heart of my business. There is no greater satisfaction than bringing a customer's unique concept to fruition, and creating that special instrument that has the perfect tone, and the perfect feel, and the perfect appearance, for the thoroughly unique tastes and talents of the player that will use the guitar. Corporate instruments built on an assembly line (or even in a corporation's "custom shop master-built" line) are no substitute for the ability to blend a customer's own exact preferences with the freedom to select from "only the best" among the finest woods, the widest array of finish options, the best possible electronics, and the craftsmanship of an acclaimed independent luthier. The end result? An instrument that will delight you with exceptional tone, previously unimagined playability, optimized to your personal preferences in every specification, and all with the utmost quality, beauty, and rigorous attention to detail that can only add up to "the world's best" quality electric guitars.

How does one order a custom-made instrument? Begin with two things: a budget, and at least a few basic ideas. Contact me with both. That will begin a no-obligation dialog that may end with you receiving the most perfect instrument for your own your tastes that you will ever find.

How much do custom guitars cost? That really depends on what you want. Most of my optimized and custom-made instruments fall with a range of $1500 to $2500, but I have also created cool guitars for as little as $500 and for as much as $6,000. Again, decide on your budget FIRST, then our dialog about specifications will be most productive, and neither of us will be wasting each other's time.

Many of the unique instruments that I sell are not fully custom-made instruments, but instead are actually heavily upgraded or restored Fender instruments. An upgraded or restored Fender with an original Fender neck is usually quite affordable. I can often offer unused (although "pre-owned" -- so no Fender factor warranty applies) for attractive prices, such as my popular "Voodoo Lounge" upgraded Telecasters and "Brownie" upgraded Stratocasters, as described in the links below.

My plan for this web site will be to build a series of links in this "Custom" area that will provide informational resources for potential customers about my favorite vendors, woods, finishes, and various parts. Watch this section grow in the months and years ahead, with many new informational sub-links. Customer suggestions for topics of interest are most welcome.

I know there is an idea in every player's mind for a guitar that means zero compromises in tone, feel, quality, and the beauty of the design. If you don't yet own such a guitar, it is definitely time for you and I to talk to one another.

Please remember that "all things are possible," but soon I will list a couple of tried and true ever-popular basic designs (like the "Voodoo Lounge Edition" and "Brownie Edition"), described in complete detail, with typical pricing and upgrade option ideas. I will also continue to add many brief discussions about the myriad choices you can make among styles, woods, finishes, cases, and electronics.

Until then, please follow the "FOR SALE" and "GALLERY" links in the navigation bar above, to get some ideas, and please investigate the many links to lengthy guitar descriptions that can be found alongside my eBay feedback. Most of all, don't hesitate to contact me with your questions about the ultimate player's experience of a great guitar, made-to-order.
