There are many vintage Guilds that are terrfic guitars, but here is an example of my very favorite electric Guild model, from what I consider to be the very year, and this one is the best sounding and best playing example it has ever been my pleasure to offer. Built in 1964 in the Guild's old Hoboken, New Jersey plant, the Starfire is a remarkable 46 year old mojo-blessed gem of a guitar.

The Guild "Starfire" line consisted of some of the coolest thinlines from any manufacturer. Built from 1961 to 1973, The Starfire III was nicely configured, with full binding, pearl inlays, and the addition of a Bigbsy-built (and Guild engraved) B-6 vibrato tail that adds in a big way to the fun of playing. Over the years, Guild kept changing electronics and tuners, but in 1964 they had both elements exactly right. Quality Grover "Sta-Tite" machines for the tuning chores and a set of DeArmond-made humbuckers that I consider the finest sounding pickups ever used on any Guild. Whether you play rock, rockabilly, jazz, or country, this Starfire III delivers the goods of vintage tone that no new instrument can match. And if you are looking for a sweet blues box, this Starfire III is your holy grail.

The Starfire 3 uses mahogany all over, with a one piece mahogany neck. It is much lighter and easier to play than the Gibson ES-335. The fretboard is Brazilian rosewood with pearl dot inlays. The peghead fetures the Guild "Chesterfield" logo and Guild name engraved in pearl. Lacquer finished in transparent "Starfire Red," with an adustable compensated bridge piece, the gold logo embossed pickguard, and cool "shield" volume and tone knobs, the classic good looks of this vintage Thinline are as fine as its sound and playability.

I have never had another guitar this old which is all original and still in as fine condition as this one. You will of course find a few marks and scratches, but as the photos clearly show, this is an exceptionally presentable example of an almost 50 year old guitar. And functionally it is every bit is good. Frets are newer and show zero wear. The electronics all function perfectly. It plays with exceptional ease. The original hardshell case is in even better condition (how often does that happen?) and the two original case keys are intact and included. All hinges and the locking latch work like new, and the case lining is clean. The guitar is structurally perfect, and needs nothing. Take it on tour tomorrow, it will not let you down. If you like what you see, don't miss this opportunity!

This amazing 46 year old Guild Starfire III with original case can be shipped immediately upon payment. Free insured Federal Express Ground shipping is included in the terrific price of just $2,399. Bank checks, money orders, bank transfers, money transfers, and personal checks (with a 10 day holding period unless you are a repeat customer) only for this great vintage deal.

This mojo-rich '64 Starfire III is something very special and so is the price, so what do you say? Contact me if interested, and thank you!
